Annual Meeting Highlights June 7, 2010 1. Training Issues: The proper procedure was spoken about on how people can be cleared. It was made clear that the only way a person can be cleared is to make sure there are proper evaluations done and one of the Assistant Chief or the Chief clears that person. Any cleared Crew Chief, Attendant or Dispatcher can evaluate a person who is training in the same position. Drivers need to go through the safety committee for clearance. Effective Monday June 7, 2010 trainees will be allowed to ride on the midnights; however it will be only one EMT or Att on the unit and one Dispatcher trainee allowed. Dave Hochhauser has been named as a driver trainer.
2. Legal: The lawsuits that we have been involved with for the last year has been closed and the issue is a now a closed matter.
3. Uniforms: Please wear our uniform neatly and with pride and respect. As per the Chairperson of the Board it is a reminder that when we are in the blue shirts we are in violation of the By Laws and Constitution of T.N.V.A.C., with that being said it is the Board of Directors who set the rules and policies and the Chief of Operations who enforce them.
4. Tours: We would like to thank all the members who do tours and help out by doing extra but let’s remember to be safe on the streets. We want try and have dispatchers on all the tours especially on the midnights and when we only have a male & female crew.
5. Communications: Just to let everyone know the daily schedules will be posted on line what you need to do is go to whentohelp.com sign in and look at the schedules and fill in when you can. If you are unable to make the tour you sign up for please contact the base or someone so that the rest of the crew can be notified
6. Anniversary: In 2014 we will be celebrating our 35th anniversary and we would like to start early to have even a bigger and better re union.
7. Meetings: The Board will be having informal meetings over the summer months in order to maintain continuity.
